West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), a part of the WVU System of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is seeking applications for the position of
Accountant Assistant I. This position will be responsible for providing direct service to new and returning students, staff, and faculty, including accurately entering and maintaining incoming University revenues in system databases.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
• Assist in the administration of the Office of Student Accounts. • Ensure cashiering policies and procedure are followed. • Cross-train in Financial Aid and Registrar Office functions in preparation for one-stop shop student services. • Provide efficient, effective and accurate customer service. • Work collaboratively with staff, faculty and students.
Work Hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Length of Assignment: Approximately 12 months
Pay Grade: 12
WVU Tech is located in Beckley, West Virginia. It boasts a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio and an average class size of 17 students, allowing personalized attention in a supportive environment. The campus is near state and national parks and numerous recreational opportunities.
• Associates degree in accounting, business or related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience • At least one (1) year of related experience • Prior experience in higher education utilizing the Banner Student Information system is preferred • Excellent customer service skills • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills • Background check
